The GM NP208 was used in Pickups and Suburbans between 1980 and 1987 typically behind automatics with 27 splines. It is an aluminum case 2 speed chain driven transfer case with a 2.62:1 reduction in low and 1:1in high range. It uses a straigth cut planetary gear low range. The 716097 is a 32 spline input that will allow you to mate the NP208 to several other GM transmissions, new adapter housings my also be required.
