Advance Adapter
The Powerglide to the GM NP 208 / 241 transfer case adapter is 2.32" in length. The adapter material is 356 T6 heat treated aluminum alloy. The adapter kit includes an adapter housing, steel gasket, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions. Pictured Mount Not Included.
Note: This adapter is designed for exclusive use with a "short" built Powerglide. This kit will require a custom crossmember to be fabricated. Do not use our crossmember mount 716055 as it does not fit the bolt pattern on this casting.
Transfer Case
The GM NP 208 / 241 transfer cases are chain driven units with a cast aluminum case. When originally coupled to the 700R / 4L60 / 4L60E the NP208 / 241 featured a 27 spline female input shaft, and were used in GM full size truck line-up in models years 1981-2000.
Transmission
The Powerglide is a two speed automatic transmission designed by General Motors. It was available primarily on Chevrolet automobiles from 1950 through the early 1970s.
Although it is a very old design Powerglide still has a strong following in drag racing due to its strength and simplicity. Powerglides are also popular in mud racing and rock crawling.
