Advance Adapter
Our Ford C4 adapter to the to the Jeep Dana 300 transfer case is 6.250". Adapter material is a strong 356-T6 heat treated aluminum alloy and the adapter has a provision for a transmission mount. The adapter kit includes a adapter housing, new C4 output shaft, vent, bearing, seal, gasket, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.
Transfer Case
1980-86 Jeep Dana 300. All 300s use a 23 spline input. Some of the adapters we manufacture include a new Dana 300 input with a different input spline. Therefore, if you obtain a Dana 300 from a salvage yard, please verify the input spline. Note: This adapter assembly is will be needed when using our Atlas 2 speed transfer case and will be required when using the Atlas 4 speed transfer case.
The adapter assembly will fit the Jeep NP231 transfer case with a 23 spline short input shaft that was previously used with the AX15. This input shaft has a stickout of 1.19". If the input shaft stick out is 2.12", this input must be shortened or changed for the short input shaft.
Transmission
The kit is designed for exclusive use with the Ford C4 automatic transmission. The Ford C4 is a 3 speed transmission was used between 1963-'82. The transmission bellhousing is removable, the overall length measures 17.00".
