Not all 231s are created equal despite what I was told.   09/29/09
By Michael Orton from NV
I bought this SYE kit for my 231 in my jeep Liberty. We are doing a solid axle swap and need it ready by a certain day to do a trail run we have planned for a while now. We went to install this kit and the fluid pump gear didn't remotely fit. I had to call a local drivetrain guy and get him to get me the part so I made the deadline. It still set us back a day and now I may not make the trail run. When I talked to the tech about this kit, I was told it would fit great. Obviously that isn't the case. Other than the fact that it doesn't come with the right part to fit the new output shaft and it doesn't come with a solution for the speedo hole left in the t-case because the Liberty comes with its speedo sensor in the rear axle, the kit seems decent enough.
